Job Description

Position Summary

The Associate Connections Planner will work to support the Connections Planning team across an exciting roster of clients. This entry-level candidate will work with the Connections team to build and present media recommendations, manage day-to-day media strategy and implementation, and collaborate closely with creative teams to create the best possible execution plan according to the strategic vision for the campaign. This opportunity is fast-moving and requires someone who works well in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment. Successful candidates will be self-starters who are eager to learn quickly, find solutions, and take the initiative to execute client asks with excellence. This is a full-time, hybrid position located in New York, NY or San Francisco, CA with two days a week in the office. This will service a client based on the West Coast, so this person will primarily work PST hours.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist in development of strategic cross-channel media plans, built with specific clients' goals and KPIs in mind; begin to manage and own individual media plans
  • Become a platform and process expert for the team via trainings in strategic research tools (MRI/Simmons, GWI, etc.) and planning processes
  • Oversee development of contracts and insertion orders, with extreme attention to detail
  • Engage publishers for media kits and rates needed for strategy development
  • Co-manage the planning, execution, and performance process, including media strategy, RFP process, plan development, and measurement plan and execution
  • Manage trafficking and Q/A of all digital creative within DCM
  • Own the publisher billing reconciliation process
  • Develop and present plan optimization recommendations based on insights
  • Oversee the tracking of account spending and collaborate with Finance to maintain up-to-date billing trackers


Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Act as a sponge for industry, cultural, technology, and consumer behavior news
  • Co-own development of strategic POVs for agency and client roster alongside senior team members
  • Work with the Analytics team to effectively distill campaign reporting in a digestible format


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor's Degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • 0 - 2 years previous experience in marketing, communication strategy, or media planning (internships or full-time roles)
  • Voracious curiosity and the ability to make lateral leaps in thinking
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills
  • Analytically strong with proven ability to demonstrate data interpretation capabilities
  • Self-starter, solutions-oriented
  • Strong organizational skills, being able to manage multiple projects at once
  • Flexibility to work PST hours

Additional Information

The annual salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000. The salary an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on factors such as but not limited to: internal compensation of current employees in similar roles, market considerations, budgetary considerations, level of responsibility, background, experience, and qualifications. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus structure.
