<strong>Our Opportunity<br><br></strong>Chewy is looking for a <strong>Business Intelligence Engineer III</strong> to demonstrate a wide set of technical and analytical skills to help us advance our business and product analytics domain across the fulfillment network. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in scaling our data infrastructure, reporting capabilities, and analytical frameworks. You'll work with teams across the business, gaining exposure to diverse domains and influencing decision-making at the highest levels. Join a collaborative, fast-paced team where you'll tackle new challenges daily, contribute to meaningful outcomes, and grow alongside Chewy’s core business strategy.<br><br>Duties of this position include but are not limited to setting up data pipelines, analyzing large data sets, investigating data anomalies, developing intuitive data visualizations, extracting actionable insights, communicating results with customers, developing solutions for complex business problems, and automating manual data processes.<br><br><strong>What You’ll Do<br><br></strong><ul><li>Develop, build, and uphold scalable and efficient data pipelines for the intake, conversion, and storage of large datasets</li><li>Implement data governance, quality checks, and standard processes around ETL/ELT pipelines and cloud data infrastructure</li><li>Build and maintain data pipelines using AWS services such as Redshift, S3, Athena etc</li><li>Build, schedule, and orchestrate scalable data pipelines using Apache Airflow on AWS MWAA to automate ETL/ELT processes</li><li>Partner closely with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and Engineers to support ongoing data initiatives and scalable architecture improvements</li><li>Mentor junior BI engineers and contribute to setting engineering standards and practices</li><li>Build interactive, scalable, and visually appealing dashboards to support complex business needs and executive decision-making primarily using Tableau, with potential use of Plotly Dash, Streamlit or equivalent</li><li>Act as an internal advocate for adopting modern data visualization, reporting practices, and cloud technologies by showcasing their business impact through meaningful use cases</li><li>Build automation scripts in Python to streamline data ingestion, transformation, and reporting processes and create interactive data visualizations using Python libraries like Plotly, Dash, Matplotlib etc</li><li>Integrate new technologies into existing BI architectures to improve performance, reduce costs, or enhance user experience</li><li>Stay abreast of innovations in AI-powered data tools to find opportunities for improved insights, automation and decision-making</li><li>Communicate findings, results, and recommendations to cross-functional partners at all levels through clear presentations, reports, and visualizations<br><br></li></ul><strong>What You’ll Need<br><br></strong><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science) or equivalent experience. </li><li>7+ years of experience with detailed knowledge of BI data warehouse technical architectures, infrastructure components, ETL/ ELT and reporting/analytic tools</li><li>4+ years of experience with data modeling in large Data warehousing, data lake environment</li><li>4+ years of experience with visualization tools like Tableau, PowerBI or equivalent</li><li>3+ years of work experience in building self-serve and enterprise level BI solutions</li><li>Experience working with data platforms such as: Snowflake, AWS, Vertica, or other RDB</li><li>Advanced knowledge of SQL (complex querying and optimization)</li><li>Advanced knowledge of Python</li><li>Familiarity with using LLMs and AI Agents to automate data and analytical workflows</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to convey complex ideas to non-technical partners and senior leaders<br><br></li></ul><strong>Bonus: (if applicable):<br><br></strong><ul><li>Master's degree in Analytics, or equivalent advanced academic degree</li><li>Experience with statistical models and building predictive models from scratch<br><br></li></ul>The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location.
