Job Summary:

Minco is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and resourceful Buyer to join our Purchasing Team. This role is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, supplies, and services to support production and operational goals. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a keen eye for cost savings, and the ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and procure materials, components, equipment, and services in accordance with company policies and specifications
  • Evaluate and negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and supplier agreements to ensure best value
  • Create and manage purchase orders and maintain accurate records in the ERP or purchasing system
  • Monitor supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness) and resolve issues as needed
  • Collaborate with internal departments (engineering, production, quality, etc.) to understand material requirements and timelines
  • Track and report on key purchasing metrics, including cost savings and supplier performance
  • Assist in the identification and qualification of new suppliers
  • Support inventory control objectives by maintaining appropriate stock levels
  • Maintain compliance with company procurement policies and relevant regulatory standards
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience (preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment)
  • Proficiency with ERP or purchasing systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.)
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze data and make strategic buying decisions
  • Detail-oriented with a sense of urgency and problem-solving mindset
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality standards is a plus

Preferred Skills (Not Required):
  • CPM or CPSM certification
  • Experience with international suppliers and import/export processes
  • Technical understanding of raw materials, components, or industrial supplies

Compensation: Range of $65,000 to $85,000 annual gross salary

Location: Fridley, Minnesota
