Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Canine Attendant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess the skills necessary to ensure the well-being of our furry clients. As an Attendant, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to animals in our facility, ensuring their comfort and safety while also maintaining a clean and organized environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
  • Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff.
  • Assist with animal evaluations and watching/caring for our canine guests.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the facility, including kennels and common spaces.
  • Ensure that all supplies are stocked and organized for efficient operation.
  • Engage with pet owners, providing updates on their pets’ well-being and addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Participate in training sessions for dogs as required, utilizing positive reinforcement techniques.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a kennel or animal care setting is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Skills in dog handling and training are highly valued.
  • Familiarity with veterinary practices or experience as a veterinary assistant is a plus.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed for animal care tasks.
  • A strong understanding of animal behavior and restraint techniques is beneficial.
  • A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is essential.
