Location:

About the role:

Has advanced skills and experience in creating, growing, and optimizing digital communities, with a strong background in marketing, engagement, and cross-functional program development. Demonstrates ability to independently own and evolve community strategy, content curation, advanced analytics/reporting, and process optimization. Excels in cross-team collaboration and drives the community’s contribution to broader business goals.

Core job responsibilities:

  • Independently launch, grow, and oversee our industry-facing community on Circle.so, setting direction and creating a welcoming, engaged digital space.

  • Own the community content calendar: curate, create, and promote expert content; champion user-generated content.

  • Support Sales and Product marketing needs with creative, value-focused marketing assets as needed

  • Lead planning and facilitation of community events (digital and in-person) and lead company presence at industry conferences; identify and execute engagement experiments.

  • Increase company presence on LinkedIn, Reddit, and industry channels; create and distribute original and curated content.

  • Identify, document, and optimize all key community and marketing processes (onboarding, campaigning, moderation, reporting).

  • Define, track, and regularly report on core KPIs for both community and marketing efforts; use analytics to recommend improvements.

  • Serve as the key feedback loop between community members and the internal team, sharing actionable insights with Product, Success, and Marketing.

  • Coach and mentor junior teammates in the community function and provide informal guidance when needed, but note this position is not currently direct line management.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise in building, engaging, and moderating online communities and/or managing digital marketing initiatives. For example, independently managing a professional community (e.g., Circle, Slack, Discord, Reddit), or running audience engagement campaigns for a brand, association, or SaaS platform.

  • Proficient in digital content planning, curation, and campaign execution across multiple channels, especially LinkedIn and Reddit.

  • Experience with visual design and content creation tools (Canva, Adobe creative suite or similar)

  • Strong track record of creating, documenting, and refining scalable community or marketing processes (e.g., onboarding, moderation, event workflows, reporting, or content calendars).

  • Comfortable with data: identifies, tracks, and communicates engagement metrics and KPIs to influence strategy and decision-making.

  • Proactive in cross-functional collaboration with Product, Marketing, Success, and external stakeholders.

  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and organizational skills; able to foster participation, build consensus, and keep projects moving independently.

  • Creative thinker with a proactive, problem-solving approach—comfortable “building from zero,” iterating, and adapting in a fast-changing environment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience launching, growing, and actively shaping digital communities—ideally on platforms like Circle, Slack, Discord, or relevant industry forums/Reddit.

  • Demonstrated ability to design and facilitate both virtual and in-person events (such as AMAs, webinars, conferences, or community meetups).

  • Experience supporting brand marketing efforts—including content strategy, campaign execution, and thought leadership—within a SaaS or technology company.

  • Prior experience coaching or mentoring less-experienced colleagues in community, social media, or marketing functions.

  • Familiarity with marketing analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics) or experience compiling executive reports for engagement, reach, and growth.

  • Background working within regulated industries (e.g. government, cybersecurity, medical) or U.S. military a plus.
