POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Town Manager, provide strategic leadership, management, organization, direction, and supervision of all operations and activities of the Town’s Community Development Department including short and long-range planning, rural addressing, geographic information system, subdivision development, property management of Town-owned property, infrastructure capital improvement planning, and project management. Demonstrates strong ethical, professional, and service-oriented leadership. Responsible for the training, performance management, and morale of the department. Exercises independent judgment and discretion; develops and administers the department budget; formulates administrative policies and develops comprehensive plans to serve the current and future infrastructure needs of the Town.


DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid New Mexico Driver’s License, with acceptable driving record.
  • High school diploma or GED Certificate.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • Three (3) years of experience working in an executive/managerial/planning position or in roles with similar progressive responsibilities, preferably in a government entity.
  • A combination of education and experience that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
