Connects Workspace is a locally owned coworking space founded in Golden, Colorado. We believe that every team member is a crucial part of our vision, which is to create intentional coworking spaces that combines all of the amenities of a traditional office with comfort and community. The Community Manager position oversees all aspects of community building within the Connects’ community. There are 3 main focuses of the position. Sales of private offices and memberships, Community Building and Hospitality which includes planning member events to create unique experiences.

Hospitality

At its core, this is a hospitality role. The Community Manager genuinely cares about building community relationships both inside and outside of Connects Workspace. Our members love Connects Workspace because we’re cheerleaders for them and their businesses. The Community Manager will create thoughtful opportunities that supports hospitality and connection.

Communications

Strong and clear communication with both teammates and members is essential. The best fit for this role will be highly personable, social, and energized by conversations. Initiating one-on-one conversations and frequent touchpoints with members is vital, as is being able to ‘read’ each person’s needs and take an individualized approach. We strive to meet people where they are through active listening and engagement.

People Focused

Community Managers connect with just about everyone, from seasoned entrepreneurs to people who have never heard of coworking. A great Community Manager is adaptable and intuitive, able to figure out people’s needs versus their wants. Essential traits include being open-minded, self-aware, and patient; confidence in their abilities lets them know when to be flexible or firm. Asking difficult questions and being discerning are essential skills to be sure potential members are the right fit for our community. The coworking team works very closely, and a good fit will understand team dynamics and the most effective way of leading the team.

Problem Solving

Every day at a coworking space brings something new! Community Managers like a challenge and are ready to pick up whatever needs to be done. On any given day, they might be using tech-savvy skills to help a member set up a printer, making sure the conference rooms look their very best, or restocking reams of paper & kegs. As a “jack-of-all-trades,” they’ll need to take initiative and shift gears quickly, which requires strong time management and prioritization of goals. A willingness to troubleshoot with creative solutions and think outside the box is just as crucial as being detail-oriented and able to follow set processes and procedures.

Member Support

The Community Manager is involved with all aspects of member management, from leading new member orientations to processing expired members. While giving walk-in or scheduled tours to prospective members, they’ll vet new additions to ensure they’re a good fit for our community. They plan and host member engagement events, including weekly happy hours and monthly workshops.

Day-to-Day Operations

The Community Manager will host the front desk which includes, responding to emails and phone calls, managing conference room bookings, and addressing facility requests. Time is divided between planned tasks and responding to member needs and situations as they arise.

They take ownership of the facility as a whole, including setting up offices and conference rooms, managing inventory, ordering supplies, and handling maintenance requests. They’ll make sure common spaces are well-organized with an eye for aesthetics, with the goal that all members will find it a pleasure to be there.

Community Manager must be tech-savvy, with a full understanding of basic laptop use; programming a remote control is an excellent example of the skills needed. They will be proficient at the following software and have an understanding of the back-end integrations.

Position Details

This is a salary, full-time position with paid holidays. M-F 7:30am-5:15pm. One day per week will be a shorter day to get to 40 hours per week. Pay commensurate with experience.

Connects Workspace has two locations, one in downtown Golden and the other along I-70 and the Morrison exit. Community Manager will be trained to work at both locations.
