Responsibilities

  • Generate new information systems engineering theories and develop complex IS design and operations guidance.
  • Lead projects to design, acquire, and implement major prototype and developmental systems.
  • Conduct pioneering engineering studies to solve major issues across engineering disciplines.
  • Develop engineering models and operational studies for IS components interoperability.
  • Analyze diverse information systems requirements to create detailed functional requirements and contract specifications.

Requirements

  • A degree in Engineering from an accredited program or a combination of education and experience in engineering.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service, including knowledge of systems design principles and methodologies.
  • Expertise in integrated computer hardware/software information systems and applications development.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional registration as an Engineer Intern (EI) or Engineer in Training (EIT).
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination.
