Overview
Local Hospital seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our culinary team as a Cook in our cafe. This role is essential in delivering high-quality dining experiences and requires a strong background in food preparation, menu planning, and food safety. The ideal candidate will have experience in various food service environments, including fine dining and catering, and will be committed to maintaining the highest standards of culinary excellence.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
  • Assist in menu planning to ensure a diverse and appealing selection of meals.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations.
  • Handle food products with care, ensuring proper storage and handling techniques are followed.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
  • Utilize knife skills effectively for meal preparation and presentation.
  • Provide exceptional service during meal times, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Participate in catering events as needed, contributing to the overall success of the service.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred.
  • Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within the food industry.
  • Experience in fine dining or restaurant settings is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
  • Excellent knife skills and culinary experience are required for this role.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing menus and dietary needs is important for success in this position.

Hours would be 10am -6pm, 40 hours a week, weekends as needed
