Exams will be held on June 7, 2025 in Goldendale WA. Essential Job Duties Maintains department criminal files and records; enters data into computer software.Manages sex offender registrations.Picks up and delivers files, mail, and other data involved in maintaining records; processes public disclosures.Maintain records computer program; train users to utilize records computer program; troubleshoot the program and computer system.Provides support to clerical and patrol staff.Maintains criminal statics (NIBRS).Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements/Minimum Qualifications Knowledge of office practices, procedures and equipment. Maintenance and operation of the records computer program. Computerized and manual records keeping systems. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees, other agencies and the general public using tact, courtesy and good judgment. Apply established procedures and guidelines to the keeping of records and the preparation of standardized reports. Work with accuracy and attention to detail to meet deadlines. Understand and execute oral and written instructions, policies and procedures. Operate standard office equipment such as, computer terminal, and photocopier. Physically perform the essential functions of the job. Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform this job. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:High school diploma or G.E.D.Two years general office or records keeping experience. Licenses, Certificates and Other Requirements Must be a citizen of the United StatesMust be a high school graduate or have a certificate of equivalenceMust be at least 18 years of ageMust not have been convicted of a crime that is punishable by imprisonment in a state or federal prison or institution. Also must not have any arrest record for use or sale of drugs of any nature.Shall possess good moral character as determined by a thorough background investigation.May be asked to submit to a polygraph examination and drug test.Must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.Must pass a competitive exam conducted by the Klickitat County Civil Service Commission.Must satisfactorily complete 12 months probation.Klickitat County offers a generous benefit package which includes: Vacation, sick and paid holiday leave along with medical, dental, vision and life and LTD insurance and substantial County contributions towards premiums and a retirement package through the Washington State Department of Retirement System.
