Description
Delta Airlines is currently recruiting English-Speaking and Bilingual Flight Attendants to join its In-Flight Services team. Bilingual applicants have the opportunity to apply as Bilingual Flight Attendants, also known as Language of Destination (LOD). To qualify for this role, you must be fluent in both English and another language.
Due to Delta's 24/7 operations throughout the year, Flight Attendants must be prepared for a flexible schedule. Workdays can include early mornings, late nights, overnights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours when necessary.
New hires will undergo a seven-week training program at Delta's World Headquarters in Atlanta, GA. During this time, participants receive a training wage, some meals, and lodging for those who do not live within 25 miles of the training facility.
Upon completion of training, Flight Attendants will report to their assigned base to join the In-Flight Services team, which consists of over 28,000 colleagues. Delta operates out of 14 bases across the United States, including Atlanta, Boston, Cincinnati, Detroit, Fort Lauderdale/Miami, Honolulu, Los Angeles, Orlando, Minneapolis, New York, Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, and Salt Lake City. Base options may vary based on operational needs and differ for Bilingual (LOD) Flight Attendants.
As a Delta Flight Attendant, you will be responsible for: ensuring passenger safety and comfort throughout the flight. This includes practicing safety procedures, providing exceptional customer service, working independently and collaboratively, managing unexpected situations, assisting passengers with special needs, demonstrating safety equipment usage, administering emergency procedures, communicating clearly during emergencies, making informed decisions based on Delta's guidelines, preparing and serving food and beverages, assisting with luggage, addressing passenger concerns during delays or turbulence, making regular safety announcements, and adapting to the physical challenges of working at high altitudes

Requirements
To be eligible for this position, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S., be at least 21 years old at the time of application, and possess a high school diploma or GED. They must be fluent in English and able to obtain and maintain a valid passport with at least 30 months of validity before the start of training. Non-U.S. passport holders must provide documentation proving their ability to enter and exit the U.S. without restrictions. Applicants are required to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) pre-employment drug test and undergo a thorough background check, including a fingerprint-based criminal history record. Physical requirements include the ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with a seatbelt, open emergency exits and close aircraft doors weighing up to 60 pounds, and push/pull a food or beverage cart requiring 32 pounds of force. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to privacy, embrace diversity, prioritize safety and security, and be willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The role is physically demanding, involving frequent standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting, with the ability to retrieve and store items in overhead bins up to 74" high. Upon completion of training, candidates must be prepared for assignment to any flight attendant base as required by the airline's operations, with bilingual or Language of Destination (LOD) candidates expected to remain at their assigned base for at least four years. Flexibility in commuting or relocating to the assigned base and a willingness to adapt to scheduling changes are essential. Applicants must also adhere to all corporate and divisional policies.
Preferred qualifications include one or more years of experience in a role with similar responsibilities and the completion of a degree beyond high school or GED.
