Empowered Hospitality is on the lookout for Food and Beverage Directors for our fantastic hospitality clients located in New York!

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Food and Beverage to lead our culinary team and oversee all aspects of food service operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring exceptional dining experiences for our guests while managing the efficiency and profitability of our food and beverage departments. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, and service.

Duties

  • Oversee daily operations of the food and beverage department, ensuring high standards of quality and service.
  • Manage food production processes, including cooking, preparation, and presentation to meet customer expectations.
  • Develop and implement menus that reflect current trends while adhering to budgetary guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness in all kitchen areas.
  • Supervise staff across various roles including kitchen management, serving, and barista services to ensure efficient operations.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills in hospitality management and customer service.
  • Collaborate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary needs and preferences.
  • Manage banquet operations, catering services, and special events to deliver memorable guest experiences.
  • Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and manage vendor relationships effectively.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, creativity, and high performance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in food service management or restaurant management with a strong background in the food industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of culinary practices including cooking techniques, food handling procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
  • Experience in shift management within a fast-paced environment is essential.
  • Familiarity with banquet operations and catering services is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with staff, guests, and vendors.
  • A passion for hospitality with an emphasis on creating outstanding dining experiences.
