Position Summary

The Material Representative Heavy Maintenance is responsible for the on-site material support of aircraft during heavy maintenance visits. The Material Representative works along with JetBlue Engineering, Quality Assurance and Maintenance Technical Representative on any issues that occur during heavy maintenance service. This position manages customer owned inventory, maintains inventory accuracy, and works with logistics and material planning to strategically support future maintenance visits.

Essential Responsibilities

  • This position requires 100% Business Travel for sixteen (16) Day Duty Tours on-site at JetBlue’s Maintenance Provider (MRO)
  • Monitor and ensure the day-to-day execution of the contract by the MRO provider
  • Liaise with the MRO provider for all Material requirements for the heavy maintenance operations
  • Monitor and manage all material requirements in support of the heavy maintenance operations
  • Coordinate material purchases with authorized purchasing personnel as required
  • Manage the Receiving process for all material delivered for the heavy maintenance operations and storage at the MRO
  • Manage all Inventory transactions for parts issued to the aircraft during the heavy maintenance operations
  • Ensure Inventory Compliance for all customer owned stock at the MRO facility
  • Manage the repair cycle of removed components
  • Review and provide approval for the scrapping of any customer owned material
  • All other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
  • Two (2) years’ experience working in an aircraft maintenance or materials environment
  • Valid Receiving Inspection Certification or ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of start date
  • Working knowledge of inventory management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work well with others and complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Currently in possession of a valid passport or equivalent travel documents to travel freely in and out of all JetBlue destinations
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record from the state of your primary residence that meets JetBlue Airways’ insurance standards
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Five (5) years’ experience working in an aircraft maintenance or materials environment
  • Experience working as Material Lead or Supervisor
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline
  • One (1) year of purchasing experience
  • One (1) year of financial analyst experience
  • Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel
  • Working knowledge of airline maintenance programs

  • Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities

Work Environment:

  • The normal working environment is on location at partner heavy maintenance facilities with possible travel required to component repair shops, the flight line, or the warehouse
  • Monthly work schedule averages sixteen (16) days traveling and 12 days home
  • The out of office working environment may present elevated noise levels and weather variations
  • 100% business travel

Physical Effort:

  • Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently. (Light)

Compensation:

  • The base pay range for this position is between $56,500.00 and $103,100.00 Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
