Glass Manufacturing Tasks & Duties (What You'll Do)

  • Monitor the process and inspect raw materials, operate PLC controls and equipment to maintain accurate weight and flow of raw material and delivery to the furnace. Complete daily maintenance and cleaning rounds in raw materials area. Inspect and troubleshoot equipment as needed.

  • Monitor, inspect, and operate melting process controls. Physically observe the furnace and document temperature data collected every ½ hour to maintain desirable furnace temperature profile. Complete daily cleaning rounds near furnace. Inspect and troubleshoot equipment as needed.

  • Observe and maintain tonnage, thickness profile, and temperature targets accurately and consistently. Complete daily maintenance and cleaning rounds in the tin bath area. Inspect and troubleshoot equipment as needed.

  • Maintain consistent temperature profile target across the ribbon of glass in all zones of annealing. Troubleshoot issues with glass cutting in conjunction with Quality Control department. Complete daily cleaning rounds in lehr area. Inspect and troubleshoot equipment as needed.

  • Lift materials

  • Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment

  • Wear headgear, earplugs, gloves, safety glasses, and clothing

  • Complete all assigned tasks in a quickly and safely

  • Clean and clear debris and hazardous materials

  • Follow project instructions from manager or supervisor


Glass Manufacturing | Weekly Bonus offered Qualifications (Requirements / Skills)

  • Must be clean shaven at all times to ensure respirator fit and seal.

  • Positive attitude and work ethic

  • Must see, hear, and speak within normal limits.

  • Must be able to work in high temperature environment

  • Punctual, driven, self-motivated, observational, honest, and team-oriented individuals historically excel in these positions. All positions require strong communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management

  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen including THC

  • Able to pass a background check.

  • Able to work in the US.

  • Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds

  • Able to do rotating shifts (2 weeks on days then switch to 2 weeks on night)
