What You'll Be Doing

  • Operate small equipment and hand tools on a variety of job sites consisting of paving, grading, pipe installation, and site work.
  • Maintains housekeeping of job site and facilities, ensures equipment is in good working order
  • Working knowledge of methods, materials and tools used in asphalt paving, typical site work, grading, storm/sanitary/water pipe installation, etc
  • Properly follow all Company policies and procedures for safe working procedures and environment. Report any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, or Safety Manager.
  • Performs routine inspection and preventative and corrective maintenance on small equipment and hand tools if within abilities; escalates issues that are not repairable or safe.
  • Routinely assists other members of the crew as needed, including shoveling and cleanup
  • Fuel, oil and grease to ensure proper function of equipment and complete associated paperwork
  • Performs other related activities as assigned

What Are We Looking For

  • High School Diploma (or equivalency) AND prior relevant job experience
  • Valid/Clean Driver’s License
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Must have the ability to work a varied schedule of day shift, night shift, and weekends due to construction contracts
  • Ability to operate and maintain heavy equipment (excavator and loader experience preferred)
  • Working knowledge of methods, materials and tools used in typical site work, grading, storm/sanitary/water pipe installation, etc
  • Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions

Conditions of Employment

  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.

Work Environment

  • Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
