Position DescriptionThe Sales & Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the company’s sales initiatives, overseeing the sales team’s performance, and driving revenue growth through innovative marketing and automation strategies. This role balances hands-on sales leadership with marketing strategy and execution, ensuring the company exceeds advertiser goals while scaling audience engagement and brand visibility. The ideal candidate is equal parts sales leader, marketing strategist, and data-driven operator — comfortable holding daily sales meetings, guiding the team to meet ambitious targets, while also managing HubSpot automation, campaign execution, and performance reporting. This role works closely with executive leadership, editorial, and creative teams to ensure marketing and sales efforts are fully integrated and optimized for growth.

Key ResponsibilitiesSales Leadership & Revenue Growth

  • Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team through daily meetings, goal-setting, and accountability practices.
  • Develop and manage sales strategies that drive advertiser acquisition, retention, and renewals.
  • Set and track sales goals, ensuring the team consistently meets or exceeds revenue targets.
  • Partner with leadership on pricing, packaging, and new product offerings.
  • Work cross-functionally with editorial and creative teams to deliver advertiser value through sponsored campaigns, custom packages, and partnership opportunities.

Marketing Strategy & Campaign Execution

  • Develop and oversee multi-channel marketing campaigns aligned with company priorities (season launches, Nutcracker campaigns, advertiser renewals, new product rollouts).
  • Ensure campaigns are launched on time and optimized for engagement and conversion.
  • Collaborate with editorial and design teams to deliver compelling content and creative assets for campaigns.
  • Build strong relationships with advertisers, partners, and collaborators to expand the brand’s market presence.

Marketing Automation & HubSpot Management

  • Own day-to-day HubSpot administration, including workflows, pipelines, contact properties, and reporting.
  • Design, build, and manage automated journeys (drip campaigns, lead nurturing, re-engagement, etc.).
  • Integrate HubSpot with external platforms (Shopify, Typeform, ZoomInfo, etc.) to streamline operations.
  • Regularly audit HubSpot for efficiency, data accuracy, and segmentation.

Analytics & Performance

  • Build dashboards and reports that measure sales and marketing KPIs, including lead generation, pipeline growth, advertiser retention, and campaign ROI.
  • Provide weekly and monthly updates to leadership with actionable recommendations.
  • Analyze trends in engagement and conversion, adjusting strategies as needed.

Scalability & Team Development

  • Develop SOPs, playbooks, and best practices for sales and marketing workflows.
  • Create scalable systems that allow the sales and marketing functions to grow with the company.
  • Serve as the key point of connection between sales, marketing, editorial, and executive leadership.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales management and/or marketing leadership roles.Proven ability to lead sales teams to meet and exceed revenue goals.
  • Advanced HubSpot experience required (automation, workflows, integrations, reporting).
  • Strong knowledge of marketing automation, CRM systems, and campaign execution.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into actionable strategy.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Passion for the arts and enthusiasm for building community through publishing and media.
