Small Town Hospitality is looking for a skilled Carpenter/Painter/Handyman to join our team. We're a family-owned company that operates fourteen motels and hotels across the Midwest, and we're growing! This is a full-time position for a motivated individual to work on renovations and maintenance at our various locations. While you will be based out of our Algoma, Wisconsin locations, you will be required to travel to other sites occasionally.

What You'll Do

You'll be responsible for a variety of tasks that keep our properties in great shape. Your day-to-day work will include:

  • Carpentry: Framing, installing doors and windows, and adding trim work.
  • Painting: Interior and exterior painting to keep our rooms looking fresh.
  • Finishing and Drywall: Completing repairs, patching, and finishing.
  • General Repairs: Fixing a wide range of issues, from caulking tubs to assembling furniture.
  • Basic Plumbing/Electrical: Changing out faucets, toilets, outlets, and light fixtures.

This is a great opportunity for a self-starter who takes pride in their work and can complete tasks with minimal supervision. You'll also be responsible for submitting a weekly progress report.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: Proven experience in carpentry, painting, and drywall repair, with professional references to back it up.
  • Skills: The ability to perform basic plumbing and electrical tasks is preferred.
  • Independence: You must be able to work independently and manage your time effectively.
  • Reliability: You must have a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and be willing to travel.
  • Attention to Detail: You have a proactive approach to work and a keen eye for detail.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay: $35 per hour.
  • Travel: Paid driving time and a $25 per day grocery/meal allowance for travel days.
  • Tools: All necessary tools and equipment can be provided if needed.
  • Employment: W-2 employee status with bi-weekly direct deposit.
