Role Overview:
The Part-Time Accountant will work closely with our internal team to ensure accurate financial reporting, manage day-to-day accounting tasks, and help streamline financial operations tailored to the unique needs of the fashion industry — including inventory accounting, influencer gifting reconciliation, cost of goods sold, and retail pop-up tracking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and reconcile all financial records, including sales across e-commerce and retail channels.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including payments to vendors, influencers, and service providers.
- Track inventory costs and assist with COGS calculations for apparel, jewelry, and accessories.
- Oversee monthly closing procedures and prepare monthly financial statements. • Coordinate with external CPA for tax filings and end-of-year financial audits.
- Generate financial reports that support business decisions, such as marketing spend, seasonal launches, and product profitability.
- Monitor fashion-specific financial workflows like sample tracking, event budgets, and consignment accounting.
- Assist with budget planning and forecasting tailored to retail seasonality and fashion drops.Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in fashion, retail, or a consumer goods environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
- Familiarity with inventory systems and e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, NetSuite, or similar).
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Understanding of fashion business cycles and the unique accounting challenges of the industry is a plus.Schedule:
- 15-20 hours/week, flexible scheduling available.
