What You'll Do:

As a Part-Time Remote SAT & ACT Tutor, you will provide expert, one-on-one or small-group instruction to high school students, equipping them with the knowledge and strategies needed to excel on their standardized tests. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Personalized Instruction:Β Deliver engaging and effective online tutoring sessions tailored to each student's unique learning style, strengths, and areas for improvement across all sections of the SAT (Reading, Writing & Language, Math) and ACT (English, Math, Reading, Science).
  • Test Strategy & Content Review:Β Teach proven test-taking strategies, time management techniques, and critical thinking skills. Review core academic content (e.g., algebra, geometry, grammar rules, reading comprehension, scientific reasoning) necessary for success on both exams.
  • Diagnostic Assessment & Goal Setting:Β Analyze student diagnostic test results and practice test performance to identify specific areas of need and collaboratively set realistic, ambitious score improvement goals.
  • Lesson Planning & Material Curation:Β Develop customized lesson plans for each student, selecting appropriate practice problems, drills, and official test materials to reinforce concepts and build proficiency.
  • Progress Monitoring & Feedback:Β Administer and review practice tests, provide detailed feedback on performance, and track student progress over time, adjusting instructional methods as needed.
  • Motivational Coaching:Β Foster a positive and supportive learning environment, building rapport with students, boosting their confidence, and motivating them through the test preparation process.
  • Communication & Reporting:Β Maintain consistent and professional communication with students and their parents/guardians, providing regular updates on progress, challenges, and next steps.
  • Record Keeping:Β Maintain accurate and timely records of tutoring sessions, student attendance, assigned homework, and performance data.
  • Stay Current:Β Keep up-to-date with the latest changes to the SAT and ACT exam formats, scoring, and best-practice tutoring methodologies.

What We're Looking For:

We seek passionate educators who combine academic excellence with the ability to inspire and connect with students in a virtual setting:

  • Exceptional Test Scores:Β Demonstrated mastery of the SAT and/or ACT exams, ideally reflected by scores in theΒ 99th percentileΒ (e.g., SAT 1540+ or ACT 34+), or equivalent high scores. Proof of scores will be required.
  • Strong Subject Matter Expertise:Β Deep knowledge and understanding of all sections of both the SAT and ACT, including advanced mathematics concepts, grammar rules, reading comprehension strategies, and scientific reasoning.
  • Prior Tutoring/Teaching Experience:Β Minimum of [e.g., 1-2] years of successful experience tutoring or teaching high school students, particularly in standardized test preparation. Experience with online tutoring platforms is a strong advantage.
  • Outstanding Communication Skills:
