<p>Computes and prepares Borough Payroll.  Maintain payroll files and related documents and records.</p><p>The following duties <strong>ARE NOT</strong> intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification.  Shown are duties intended to provide a representative summary of   the major duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.</p><p>Maintain log of various related documents.</p><p>Ensure completeness of all incoming and outgoing forms pertaining to employees.</p><p>Checks documents for validity and accuracy of information; collects, records, files and distributes payroll related paperwork.</p><p>Process Personnel Action Forms and other source documents in compliance with Borough rules and regulations.</p><p>Enters payroll and related data into computer systems, and maintains information system database</p><p>Reviews and enters timesheets; brings timesheet errors to the attention of department timekeepers, verifies that corrections have been made to timesheets prior to entry.</p><p>Responds to requests for basic payroll information; directs more complex inquiries to senior staff.</p><p>Prints and distributes bi-weekly timesheets for all Borough employees.</p><p>May act as back up for Payroll Specialist II.</p><p>Perform other duties as assigned.</p><p>Knowledge of Borough policies and procedures.</p><p>Knowledge of principles of record keeping and records management.</p><p>Skill in data entry.</p><p>Ability to create and understand mathematical computations.</p><p>Strong interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on customer service.</p><p>High school graduate or G.E.D/or, a combination of 12 years of education and related work experience.</p><p>One year of clerical work experience;</p><p>One year of experience of working with computers;</p><p>One year experience with payroll or accounting functions.<br> </p><p style="text-align: center"><strong>THE NORTH SLOPE BOROUGH IS AN ALCOHOL AND DRUG FREE WORKPLACE.</strong></p><p style="text-align: justify">This Job Description reflects North Slope Borough's best effort to describe the essential functions and qualifications of the job described.  It is not an exhaustive statement of all the duties, responsibilities or qualifications of the job.  This document is not intended to exclude an opportunity for modifications consistent with providing reasonable accommodation.  This is not intended to be a contract. </p>
