Facilities Maintenance Specialist

The Plant Watchperson is a facilities maintenance specialist responsible for daily plant visits to monitor the facility and record information. This includes monthly meter reads, fuel dips, meter reading, and possibly changing oil on the engines.

Candidates will need to be available to advise Tok power crew of outages and assist with power outages if requested to do so, day or night.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meter readings are performed on a regular basis to track energy usage.
  • Fuel dips are conducted to ensure adequate supply levels.
  • Engine oil changes are performed as needed to maintain optimal engine performance.
  • Accurate records and reports are maintained to provide valuable insights.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required for this position.
  • Candidates must be self-motivated and able to communicate effectively with team members.
  • Safe identification and mitigation of hazards around electrical and mechanical equipment is essential.
  • Mental flexibility and a willingness to learn unfamiliar aspects of the job are necessary.
  • Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in mechanical or electrical fields is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • This role may involve working in loud environments requiring hearing protection.
  • Non-temperature-controlled environments may be encountered at times.
  • Work will be performed around rotating equipment.
  • Candidates must be capable of safely lifting up to 30 pounds on occasion.
  • Good balance and ability to work at heights are necessary.
  • Safety gear and PPE must be worn at all times when performing fieldwork.
