Intro

is looking for our first Marketing Design Intern! We’re a small Ed Tech company that helps people reach their career goals through study tools for professional certification exams. We have robust marketing and design teams who you’ll work with to create social media assets, email designs, website imagery, and other deliverables.

We are located in Downtown Durham’s American Underground startup hub where you’ll have access to a myriad of entrepreneurship events, a sunlight-filled office space, and free snacks.

Our design team is looking for an imaginative designer early in their career who is comfortable working independently but isn’t afraid to ask questions and collaborate closely with others. We’ll look for a strong design eye for visual quality and detail in your portfolio.

Details about the Role

As a Marketing Design Intern, you will work closely with our marketing designer (Miles), the larger design team, and the marketing team. You will start your internship by learning our brand through the development of social media assets for our various channels. As your comfort with our brand grows, you will have the opportunity to take on other tasks like emails, website work, and merch. We will consider you part of the team and will invest in your growth as a designer and professional.

Requirements

The right candidate will be passionate about our , support our , and enjoy working within a small team. We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has 2+ years graphic design experience in a university, bootcamp, or self-guided setting
  • Note: no formal university level experience required
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Sketch/Figma
  • Able to work 16-24 hours a week, specific days can be set based on your schedule and preference
  • Able to work from our Durham, NC office at least 2 days a week; WFH optional for remaining time.
  • Has a strong portfolio that showcases skill with color, typography, systems thinking, and attention to detail

  • Is willing to work within an existing brand and library visual system
  • Strong work ethic: able to manage many deliverables at a time and hit deadlines reliably

  • Excited to collaborate with the marketing team to bring their ideas to life and with the design team to refine and polish those designs
  • Engaged team member who is curious, asks good questions, and is an active listener
