POSITION PURPOSE:

The Procurement Lead is responsible for managing product listings and pricing on different online platforms and marketplaces. The person in this role decides the best way to fulfill customer orders in real time and ensures everything runs smoothly. It’s a hands-on position focused on improving processes and supporting the company’s overall strategy.

This role requires a strong ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams, excellent communication skills, and superior attention to detail.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Monitor business supply needs to determine if inventory is on hand or if purchasing is required.
  • Lead and train contract and offshore workforce and communicate process changes as needed.
  • Make sure invoices and job records are accurate and up to date, and coordinate the daily work of administrative contractors.
  • Decide the best way to handle customer orders–or escalate when needed–to make sure products are delivered accurately and on time, following the company’s overall strategy.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate buy assignments to buyers and/or purchasing team, including specific offer type, quantity, target cost, method of delivery, alternate options, as well as priority of the buy task.
  • Review and manage open customer orders after a sale, deciding when to purchase requested items or suitable alternatives, and create strategic offers for customers.
  • Handle more complex purchases that require buying products across different marketplaces, make sure payment and address details are verified, and oversee the accounts used for these purchasing methods.
  • Review incoming orders to decide whether they can be accepted as is, need adjustments, or should be escalated for further approval before being created in the system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Required Experience/Competencies//Skills

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1 years’ experience in Sales or Procurement Management
  • Detail oriented, organized, and committed to objectives with strong follow through
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be professional and exhibit a commitment to honesty in the workplace
  • Self-motivated, self-starter that takes initiative to maintain a high standard of quality and performance in what can be at times a dynamic and fast paced environment
  • Enthusiastic attitude toward doing whatever is needed
  • Must be proficient in Google Suite Applications including but not limited to, Gmail, Google Sheets, and Google Documents
  • Experience in communication systems such as Zoom, Hangouts/Meet, Slack, Trello Teamviewer and other remote work tools

Desired Experience/Competencies/Skills

  • Prior leadership experience or familiarity with leadership concepts
  • A background in buying, pricing, or selling of product inventory a plus
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Familiarity with technology is helpful, as we use home-grown systems, and this role will need to be comfortable communicating needs with our product development team
  • Positive, personable, and comfortable working in a small business environment
  • Prior use of Lucid Charts and Jira/Confluence is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Tableau
  • Team player with willingness to learn and be coached for continuous improvement

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Non-Exempt Working Conditions

The position can be done virtually, from a home office, with the requirement of reliable high-speed internet. The position entails extended periods of sitting at a computer for 8+ hours per day. Availability, willingness, and flexibility to travel up to 5% of the time are necessary. Overtime may be required based on business needs, including work on nights and weekends, and will be compensated as per applicable laws.

Training Schedule for first 30 days: Tuesday-Saturday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM EST
