We are seeking an experienced Production Engineer with a strong focus on Continuous Improvement to join our team in New Hope, MN. In this role, you will be instrumental in scrutinizing and refining our current production methodologies and workflows. Your expertise will help us enhance efficiency, minimize waste, and elevate product quality. Collaborating with various teams, you will spearhead continuous improvement initiatives, support daily operations in our pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, and ensure that production objectives are achieved cost-effectively and promptly.

Job duties:

  • Analyze and optimize production processes, packaging, and material handling equipment to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Lead and coordinate projects aimed at reducing waste and increasing process efficiency.
  • Implement changes to equipment and processes that bolster quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Engineering groups to determine optimal manufacturing processes for established products.
  • Manage projects through to the production phase and communicate outcomes to leadership.
  • Investigate significant quality concerns, author investigation reports, and execute action plans that address the root causes.
  • Enhance manufacturing processes by leveraging your knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to improve production efficiency and quality.
  • Work with the production team to identify and resolve bottlenecks, optimizing workflow.
  • Design and implement systems for production tracking and quality control, and analyze operational data to identify production issues.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for process improvements and standard operating procedures.
  • Educate and mentor production staff on new processes and technologies.
  • Coordinate with equipment vendors to ensure proper installation and maintenance of machinery.
  • Monitor and analyze KPIs to measure improvement and report progress to management.
  • Stay abreast of the latest production technologies and practices to ensure our processes remain industry-leading.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (mechanical, chemical, industrial, electrical) or a related field.
  • At least 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in applying Lean Sigma principles.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and process control techniques.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Familiarity with cGMPs and experience in a regulated manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of packaging equipment
