SUMMARY
Provide professional material planning and scheduling support to the organization including close coordination with Sales, Customer Service, and Manufacturing departments. Maintain and improve MRP system parameters and planning systems, generate and release work orders, reschedule by Order Action reports and maintain area capacity plans and product forecasts. Responsible for internal customer contact relating to availability of products as well as scheduling and capacity information. Track, monitor and advise management on production plans and schedules to achieve planned production levels and provide excellent customer service to meet company goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain all MRP or applicable scheduling systems pertaining to the management and scheduling activities required for work order and capacity planning. Communicates with internal customers and coordinates material requirements.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers, other Carlisle facilities and Sales staff.
  • Monitor, track, report, advise and conduct production planning processes to ensure the organization meets customer delivery requirements and expectations. Support sales activities, new product introduction and customer demand fulfillment activities.
  • Understand terms and conditions, order confirmation, revision and change notice processes and other processes within the facility affecting production planning activities.
  • Maintain and continuously improve MRP system or other Capacity Planning system parameters and processes for effective use of system planning and scheduling capabilities.
  • Assist in site Sales and Operations Planning processes to ensure assigned scheduling, planning activities and capabilities meet long-term sales projections.
  • Proactively provide schedule and release direction for manufacturing orders within the facility. Coordinate scheduling of orders with sales, manufacturing, engineering/prototype and other areas.
  • Proactively pursue the elimination of shortages that impact, or may impact, production and shipments.
  • Review applicable documentation to determine accuracy and obtain any clarification necessary from the customer, sales, engineers, manufacturers’ representatives or other functional areas.
  • Process RMAs and other transactions daily using the MRP system and related ancillary data sources/toolsets developed for this activity, including other databases and spreadsheets.
  • Conduct forecasting process, help determine appropriate safety stock levels and other daily activities to meet internal and external customer requirements.
  • Perform routine clerical tasks such as proofreading, maintaining logs and updating information such as Key Performance Indicators/Targets-To-Improve, SQDC(I) boards, periodic planning reports, other location requirements regarding customer and product quality, service, lead-time, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Two (2) year degree or equivalent experience is mandatory. Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university, Business, Supply Chain, or Technical, is highly preferred. APICS/ISM/Supply Chain certification or willing to complete the first module of APICS certification program, or equivalent, within two years of employment is preferred.
  • One (1) or more years of experience in planning and scheduling position(s) preferred. Cable and electronic component planning experience desired.
  • Excellent ability to learn material management skills including Planning/Scheduling techniques and methodologies, General Manufacturing knowledge, Materials Requirement Planning (MRP), general knowledge of Engineering Change processes, Inventory Control, Transactional Management and critical thinking and problem-solving capability.
  • Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement.
  • Solid organizational interface skills.
  • Team player relating to people at all levels of the organization and possess excellent communication skills.
  • An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and a positive professional image.
  • Flexible and able to function comfortably in a fast-paced, constantly changing and ambiguous environment.
  • Read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, suppliers and employees.
  • Portray a positive and professional image. Establish relations with a wide range of personalities, cultural backgrounds and educational levels.

  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Excellent knowledge of ERP systems. SAP MM and PP module knowledge is preferred.
  • Computer skills – General MS-Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills are mandatory; advanced skills in MS Office including MS-Access are beneficial.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Conversational in any other language is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
As part of their job duties, the employee must be able to sit, stand, and walk throughout the day while frequently using their hands to handle objects and communicate verbally. Additionally, they may need to reach, stretch, push, pull, crouch, stoop, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds. SALARY INFORMATION:
According to several states' laws, this position's salary range falls between $22.50 and $27.00 hourly. However, this salary information is merely a general guideline.
