<p><strong>Job Title: Part-Time Program Assistant</strong></p><p> <strong>Reports To: Family & Program Manager</strong></p><p> <strong>Position Type: Part-Time</strong></p><p> </p><p><strong>Position Overview</strong></p><p>Friendship Circle of Miami is seeking a dedicated <strong>Part-Time Program Assistant</strong> to support our afterschool, Sunday, “no-school fun days”, and summer camp week programs. This role is ideal for an energetic and compassionate individual who is comfortable working with individuals with special needs. The part-time Program Assistant will play a key role in providing hands-on support, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for participants.</p><p>This is a fantastic opportunity for a special education educator, paraprofessional, or school staff member looking to gain additional hours while working in a supportive, inclusive environment and making a meaningful impact on individuals with special needs. </p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>Program Support & Supervision</strong></p><ul><li>Assist in the execution of our programs, ensuring a structured and inclusive environment for all participants.</li><li>Work directly with children and adults with special needs, providing guidance and encouragement in various activities.</li><li>Support staff and volunteers by helping to facilitate recreational, educational, and social programming.</li><li>Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during activities and transitions.</li></ul><p><strong>Administrative & Logistical Support</strong></p><ul><li>Assist with program setup, cleanup, and organization of materials and supplies.</li><li>Support program tracking, attendance records, and documentation.</li><li>Communicate effectively with the Family & Program Manager regarding participant needs, program logistics, and any concerns.</li></ul><p><strong>Collaboration & Teamwork</strong></p><ul><li>Work closely with staff, volunteers, and families to foster a positive and inclusive environment.</li><li>Engage with parents and caregivers in a professional and supportive manner.</li><li>Support social media and marketing promotions but assisting with creating content and flyers as needed.</li><li>Attend occasional staff training sessions and meetings to enhance program effectiveness. </li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Must be 18 years or older.</strong></li><li>Experience working with individuals with special needs is highly preferred.</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with participants, staff, and families.</li><li>Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Ability to multitask and adapt to different program needs.</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Work Schedule & Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Part-time position with the general following schedule:</li><li>Monday – Thursday: 3:00 PM – 6:30 PM / Two Tuesday’s a month 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM</li><li>Two Sundays per month (exact dates will be provided): One Sunday 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM / The other 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM </li><li>Teacher Workdays/Holidays/Breaks (MDCPS calendar, dates will be provided) and summer camp sessions</li><li>Must be comfortable working in an active and hands-on role.</li><li>Required to obtain a Level 2 Background Clearance.</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Compensation</strong></p><p>Hourly pay is <strong>$20/hour</strong>, based on skills and experience. </p><p><br></p><p><strong>Equal Opportunity Employment</strong></p><p>Friendship Circle of Miami is committed to creating an inclusive and diverse work environment.
