Border Protection Officer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Detected and questioned individuals suspected of violating immigration laws
  • Inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations
  • Prevented and apprehended aliens and smugglers of aliens at or near the borders
  • Maintained surveillance from covert positions using infrared scopes during night operations
  • Patrolled international boundaries and coastal waterways using various government assets

Requirements:

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as physical searches, apprehending violators, and utilizing intelligence information
  • Authority granted by the state or government to enforce laws, make arrests, and investigate crimes
  • Ability to speak and read Spanish and English
