Job Description

The Rotating Equipment Reliability Analyst is responsible for managing and improving the reliability of rotating machinery in their assigned process units. Key tasks include providing support for unexpected machinery failures, implementing solutions for recurring machinery issues, conducting diagnostic analyses, and enhancing overall system reliability. This role also involves guiding preventive maintenance strategies, troubleshooting critical machinery, and analyzing root causes of equipment failures to prevent recurrence.

Key Responsibilities:

Machinery Troubleshooting: Assist maintenance and operations teams in troubleshooting critical equipment failures, focusing on both immediate repair and long-term solutions to avoid repeat issues.
Documentation: Maintain accurate machinery records, including repair scopes, failure analyses, and update worst actor lists. Ensure all paperwork related to design changes or upgrades is completed.
Design Review: Assess machinery history to develop reliability improvements and review new machinery installations to ensure they meet corporate standards.
Root Cause Failure Analysis: Participate in investigations for complex equipment issues, such as pump failures or repeated maintenance problems.
Quality Assurance: Support various departments by developing and reviewing maintenance and repair procedures, as well as assisting with commissioning new or repaired equipment.
Machinery Protection and Monitoring: Provide technical support to ensure proper machinery protection systems are in place, and perform regular condition monitoring and performance evaluations for critical and routine machinery.
Off-Shift Support: Be available for off-shift callouts to address urgent rotating equipment issues.
Project Support: Provide assistance for capital projects, turnarounds, and updates to preventive maintenance procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in vibration analysis (Level 1 or higher).
Experience with machinery analysis tools and software like BN ADRE Sxp, System 1, Windrock MD, and others.
Strong problem-solving skills in identifying potential reliability issues and implementing improvements.
Knowledge of formal root cause analysis techniques (e.g., 5-Why, TapRoot).

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license.
In-depth knowledge of rotating equipment, such as turbines, compressors, pumps, and motors.
Experience in condition monitoring, including vibration and oil analysis.
Proficiency in using databases, Excel, and Word.

Relocation and Special Considerations:

Relocation may be considered for this position, which is based at the Richmond Refinery and operates on a 4-10 work schedule. During periods of exceptional workload, such as during turnarounds, employees may earn compensatory time.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $114,500 to $196,400, with benefits that include variable pay, healthcare, retirement plans, time off, and more. Compensation is determined by skills, experience, and qualifications.
