Our mission is to turn complex, multi-source data into actionable insights that empower sales, accelerate growth, and drive strategic decision-making at all levels. Our team—comprised of analytics data engineers, data scientists and data analysts —collaborates to deliver trusted data insights, impactful dashboards, and advanced data science models.

Your Impact

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Data Foundation: Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and architectures (maximising HANA, Snowflake and external data sources) to enable reliable, timely, and well-structured data for analytics, dashboards, and modeling.
  • Insight Acceleration: Partner closely with analytics managers, data analysts, and data scientists to deliver insights that directly advise executive sales, planning, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Business Partnership: Collaborate with business and strategy partners to understand evolving requirements and translate them into technical data solutions that support growth initiatives—such as segmentation, customer insights, and new go-to-market approaches.
  • Efficiency and Automation: Identify and automate manual or repetitive data processes, scaling analytics capabilities and freeing up analysts for more strategic work.
  • Data Quality and Reliability: Ensure the integrity, consistency, and accuracy of data pipelines and data models, supporting business-critical Tableau dashboards, Excel workbooks, and data science models.
  • Innovation and Best Practices: Prototype and implement new data solutions, championing data engineering standards and experimenting with emerging tools and techniques (e.g., AI, Python, cloud data migration).
  • Generative AI Integration: Partner with data scientists and AI teams to prototype, integrate, and operationalize generative AI solutions (such as large language models, text summarization, or automated insight generation) into analytics workflows and business processes.
  • Multi-functional Enablement: Build relationships across Cisco’s data stewards, architects, and business teams to discover new data sources, drive data integration, and contribute to company-wide data initiatives.
  • Mentorship and Collaboration: Share knowledge, mentor peers, and help foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement across the analytics engineering function.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, or similar role, with a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field
  • Proven success in designing and maintaining scalable data architectures supporting sales, marketing, or business analytics
  • Strong expertise in SQL or Python and experience with major relational database technologies (SAP HANA, Snowflake, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting high-impact projects such as segmentation, unified customer definitions, or go-to-market strategy development
  • Cloud data migration and AI/ML solution prototyping experience
  • Practical knowledge of prompt engineering, fine-tuning, or deploying generative AI models in production
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to business collaborators and influence data-driven decisions
  • Experience working with generative AI models and tools (e.g., OpenAI, Azure AI, Google Vertex AI, or similar) for data enrichment, insight generation, or workflow automation
  • Experience collaborating with AI or data science teams to design, implement, and integrate generative AI solutions into business analytics environments
