Description:

  • Develop, implement, and continuously refine the YouTube content strategy in alignment with Yelp’s overarching social media and brand goals.
  • Manage the YouTube content calendar: plan, schedule, and coordinate regular uploads and campaigns that spotlight local businesses, Yelp experiences, and brand initiatives.
  • Ideate and create video storylines/briefs: partner closely with content, creative, and production teams to bring compelling stories to life.
  • Source and curate user-generated content, influencer partnerships, and community spotlights to expand content variety and authenticity.
  • Optimize channel and video elements (metadata, thumbnails, titles, playlists) for discoverability, SEO, and maximum viewer retention.
  • Collaborate with the analytics team to set, track, and report on YouTube KPIs (views, watch time, engagement, subscriber growth, etc.), and proactively inform ongoing strategy based on insights.
  • Stay ahead of YouTube trends, platform updates, and content best practices—testing new formats and approaches for impact.
  • Engage with the YouTube community: respond to comments and foster authentic conversations to build loyalty.
  • Ensure all content is brand-aligned and compliant with legal and copyright guidelines.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (social, creative, PR, community, product) to integrate YouTube initiatives with campaign launches and company priorities.
  • Serve as a resource for the B2B YouTube channel, providing support, expertise, and content guidance to help drive channel growth and engagement.
  • Work with the Creative team to establish and maintain Yelp’s social tone and voice.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years managing YouTube channels for a consumer brand, media company, or creator-led business, with a proven track record of channel growth and successful campaigns.
  • Deep expertise in YouTube platform management: algorithm fluency, channel analytics, audience development, and optimization strategies.
  • Experience developing video storylines, writing briefs, and collaborating with creative or production teams from concept to final cut.
  • Strong understanding of video SEO, metadata optimization, and thumbnail strategy.
  • Adept at analyzing channel and video performance data, distilling insights, and making strategic recommendations.
  • Up-to-date on social video trends, YouTube policy, emerging content formats, and audience engagement tactics.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills: able to coordinate cross-functional partners, advocate for video strategy, and deliver campaigns on time.
  • High attention to detail and a results-driven mindset with adaptability and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Passion for digital storytelling, community building, and Yelp’s mission to support local discovery.
