Title: SOP Documentation Specialist

Location: Ecru, MS or Charlotte, NC

We’re looking for a detail-obsessed SOP Documentation Specialist who thrives on structure, clarity, and process precision. In this role, you’ll be the go-to expert for creating, updating, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, manuals, and related documentation. You’ll work across departments to ensure our operations are clearly defined, compliant, and consistently executed.

This role is key to keeping our teams aligned and our workflows efficient.


What You’ll Do

Document Creation & Maintenance

  • Write, edit, and format SOPs, work instructions, and technical documentation
  • Ensure documentation is consistent, clear, and aligned with company standards
  • Translate complex processes into digestible, actionable content

Version Control & Compliance

  • Manage document lifecycle: versioning, approvals, archiving
  • Maintain change logs and ensure compliance with internal and external standards

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with subject matter experts to gather critical process information
  • Conduct interviews and workshops to fill documentation gaps
  • Coordinate input and feedback from multiple stakeholders

Training & Knowledge Sharing

  • Develop training materials to support the adoption of SOPs
  • Host sessions or create guides to ensure teams understand new procedures
  • Act as a documentation resource for teams company-wide

Process & Workflow Optimization

  • Identify inefficiencies, duplications, or inconsistencies in procedures
  • Recommend improvements to enhance clarity and operational flow

Quality Assurance

  • Conduct regular audits of documentation for accuracy, relevance, and compliance
  • Monitor adherence to documentation standards and style guides

Repository Management

  • Maintain organized, intuitive documentation libraries
  • Ensure quick and easy access to current and historical documents

What do you need?

  • Proven experience in technical writing, SOP development, or a similar documentation role
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong ability to simplify complex information
  • Proficiency with document management systems (DMS), version control tools, and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace
  • Ability to work independently and across functions with minimal hand-holding
  • Strong communication skills – written, verbal, and interpersonal
