The Taholah School District is seeking a full-time paraeducator to work with student(s) who have special needs. This successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to students with special needs in the classroom and ensuring their success in academic and social settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with disabilities in the classroom
  • Help students with daily activities such as eating, toileting, and dressing
  • Monitor and document student progress and behavior
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience working with students with disabilities preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff members
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Must be willing to attend professional development and training sessions as required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed.

Note: Applicant will need to "PASS" the WA State Praxis Paraeducator test (455 or higher); or have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university, or completed an apprenticeship as a paraeducator.

  2. Have a high school diploma or equivalent(minimum)
  3. Have earned an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university(no test required with AA Degree)
