Title: Sr. Marketing Manager

Location: Alpharetta, GA; Columbus, OH; Dallas, TX

Remote/Hybrid/Onsite: REMOTE

McKesson is seeking a Sr. Marketing Manager to join our Commercial Strategy & Innovation (CSI) group. In this role, you will lead the development and execution of marketing strategies that drive awareness, adoption, and growth across multiple CSI business offerings.

You will be responsible for crafting and executing go-to-market plans, launching innovative marketing initiatives, and supporting lead generation, customer retention, and renewal efforts. As a key member of the CSI leadership team, you will act as a strategic marketing advisor, ensuring alignment between marketing efforts and business objectives to achieve financial goals.

This position reports to CSI's Senior Director of Strategic Marketing and collaborates closely with cross-functional partners, including Product Management, Sales, Account Management, Customer Success & Support, Operations, Legal, and Finance.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning/Campaign Management - Develop and drive execution of comprehensive strategic marketing plans and promotional campaigns that align with business objectives to increase demand for new business and cement long-term value for existing customers.

  • Collaborate with product and sales teams to design go-to-market strategies for new and existing products, providing counsel based on sound marketing principles

  • Oversee the implementation of go-to-market campaigns that engage key target audiences and personas

  • Engage the strategic insights team on research efforts to identify industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape, and use research data to inform marketing strategies

  • Orchestrate the development, implementation, and management of integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including digital, print, events, social media, etc.

  • Manage relationships with external agencies and vendors to ensure the delivery of high-quality marketing assets

  • Measure and analyze the effectiveness of campaigns, making data-driven decisions on how to optimize performance and return on investment (ROI)

Directs internal teams and external vendors to create and amplify high-impact content and collateral that can be used across all communication channels, including sales enablement, events, and digital.

  • Develop a deep understanding of CSI solutions and services to differentiate and position them in the market effectively

  • Create, test, and implement compelling content, messaging, and value propositions that impact our business and our customers

  • Lead initiatives to enhance brand visibility and thought leadership reputation within the industry, as well as across internal channels

  • Maximize engagement and leverage communication channels, focusing on answering the question, “How can marketing accelerate growth and retention?”

  • Lead development of the brand narrative about McKesson’s differentiated value that resonates with our customers and prospects

  • Develop messaging and senior leadership talking points for professional trade shows and employee meetings

  • Support the creation of sales enablement tools, including capability presentations, digital/web content, product collateral, case studies, white papers, and other sales collateral

  • Support promotional objectives to determine the best channels, placement, and deliverables that reach our targeted prospective customers

  • Capture the voice of the customer in positioning, messaging, and content

Collaborate with CSI and cross-business unit key stakeholders, leadership teams, legal/compliance, and marketing team members.

  • Serve as a key contributor to leadership teams for the areas you support, providing marketing-based insights in response to complex/critical business situations

  • Partner closely with product and sales leadership, meeting on a regular cadence to explore new opportunities, anticipate challenges, and formulate appropriate responses and redirects

  • Consult with legal and compliance on a regular cadence to review plans and ensure appropriate actions are taken

  • Collaborate with marketing colleagues, acting as a resource or mentor for less experienced colleagues

Act as a resource for the business units and solutions you support.

  • Establish yourself as the marketing SME in the areas you support

  • Work with limited direction and determine and develop approaches to solutions

  • Provide resolutions to a range of problems

Help leverage the value of Commercial Strategy and Innovation across the Enterprise and weave the One McKesson value into external communications

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and refine commercial strategies that align with enterprise vision and objectives

  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder engagement, including the PSaS marketing & comms team, strategy and innovation team, investor relations team, etc.

Minimum Requirement

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.

Education

4-year degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or the equivalent relevant business experience

Critical Skills

  • Ideally, 7+ years of relevant experience (e.g., product launch go-to-market, lead generation campaigns, events, etc.)

  • Healthcare industry experience preferred

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), collaboration, and interpersonal skills

  • Experience in managing projects in a matrix organization

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and proactive project management

  • Knowledge of company products and services

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. $106,200 - $177,000
