About the position

Responsibilities

  • Plan and procure assigned items while executing buying strategies at optimal cost/quality.
  • Perform 80/20 and MRD analysis of assigned materials independently.
  • Create purchase orders for timely acquisition of materials.
  • Ensure availability of required materials to support manufacturing and customer orders.
  • Manage inventory levels of assigned materials and assist in the Cycle Counting Program.
  • Research causes of unavailable materials and recommend improvements.
  • Interface with CSR's, manufacturing, and shipping personnel regarding material availability.
  • Discuss defective goods/services with production, quality, and shipping/receiving personnel to determine corrective actions.
  • Maintain records of purchased items, costs, delivery, and inventories.
  • Ensure timely and accurate input of purchasing data into JDE database.
  • Negotiate claims and resolve complaints with suppliers under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Manage assigned suppliers using a continuous improvement process and evaluate supplier performance.
  • Assist in market condition analysis and supply strategy development.
  • Develop RFPs for assigned materials and review supplier proposals.
  • Research and recommend alternate suppliers and report cost savings activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business Analytics, or related field; or 10+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management.
  • 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in global sourcing and the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong data analysis skills using Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and knowledge of inventory management.
  • Knowledge of JDE software functions and project management processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in automotive maintenance products industry.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
