About the position

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, and shipping.
  • Schedule and oversee warehouse team, managing the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime.
  • Assess the need for equipment and staffing to ensure effective loading, unloading, movement, and storage of materials, along with oversight of maintenance on lift equipment.
  • Meet regularly with warehouse leads to analyze productivity and develop actionable plans for efficiency improvements.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of all inventory residing within the warehouse.
  • Oversee and manage logistics for transporting products to customers and company facilities, communicating with drivers and air partners to ensure efficient delivery of packages.
  • Responsible for maintaining and adhering to established Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements.
  • Prepare for and participate in all audits.
  • Implement and oversee safety protocols for the assigned locations and staff.
  • Maintain documentation and accurate records of warehouse activities.
  • Drive a safety culture throughout the department and support all safety initiatives.
  • Perform all other tasks as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience/education combination.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience including people management.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems and layout design, including implementation of warehouse management systems.
  • Proven team leadership skills and the ability to influence others at all levels within the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel to support customer and plant requirements - 20-30% Domestic.

Nice-to-haves

  • Membership of an appropriate professional body such as the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of lean techniques may be advantageous.
