About the position

LMI is seeking a skilled Policy Specialist to support the United States Postal Service (USPS) and U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS). The Policy Specialist will play a crucial role in the assessment, adjudication, updating, and reporting on USPIS policies. This position involves supporting the creation, update, or retirement of policies following workshop-driven assessments. The Policy Specialist will be responsible for analysis, drafting, administration, and client coordination, ensuring that all tasks are completed with high quality and within deadlines. A successful candidate will work closely with their Task Lead and Program Manager to develop solutions to policy issues, maintain disciplined records, and deliver high-quality outputs to the client. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to navigate complex policy challenges collaboratively with the LMI team. The Policy Specialist will support the development and writing of various policy-related materials, including guidance documents and standard operating procedures, to direct work processes effectively. Additionally, the position involves tracking risks and key decisions regarding policies, developing critical tracking documentation, and ensuring consistency across products and recommendations related to policy taxonomy and treatment. The Policy Specialist will also be responsible for creating policy drafts and PowerPoint presentations for customer iteration, review, and signoff, contributing to the overall excellence of the LMI team and helping to achieve program milestones while assessing customer feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and writing of policies and policy-related materials (guidance documents, standard operating procedures, etc.) to direct work processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in a policy, management, business, or related field

  • Prior consulting experience

  • Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance
