About the position

As an Azure Platform Admin at Cognizant, you will play a crucial role in deploying and managing Azure PaaS services. This remote position allows you to work from anywhere in the United States, provided you are legally authorized to do so without employer sponsorship. Your primary responsibilities will include utilizing Terraform and Ansible automation templates, or manual methods, to provision various Azure services such as Azure DataBricks, Azure ML Ops, Azure Storage, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Key Vault, Log Analytics, Azure Kubernetes, and Application Service Environment. You will also be responsible for building private and service endpoints, configuring Network Security Groups (NSG) rules, routing, and firewalls to ensure secure and efficient operations. In addition to service provisioning, you will set up Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Azure DevOps, and configure and supervise Azure PaaS services alongside version control systems like Git and GitHub. Your role will also involve using ServiceNow for managing service requests, incidents, and change requests, adhering to IT Service Management (ITSM) policies. This position requires a strong focus on customer service, ownership of tasks, and a bias for action, as well as excellent remote teamwork skills to collaborate effectively in a matrix organization with diverse priorities. You will be expected to communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally, and to work with agile delivery methodologies. The ability to conceptualize requirements and design iteratively with business partners, even in the absence of formal documentation, is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Use Terraform/Ansible automation templates or manual approach to deploy Azure PaaS services.
  • Specialize in PaaS resource provisioning of Azure services including Azure DataBricks, Azure ML Ops, Azure Storage, ADF, Key Vault, Log Analytics, Azure Kubernetes, Application Service Environment, Web and Function Apps.
  • Build private and service endpoints, NSG rules, routing, and firewalls.
  • Set up CI/CD for Azure DevOps.
  • Configure and supervise Azure PaaS services, Git, and GitHub.
  • Use ServiceNow for Service Request, Incidents, and Change Request management following ITSM policies.

Requirements

  • 12 years hands-on experience with Azure PaaS deployment using Terraform automation templates or manual methods.
  • Experience with Azure network configurations including private and service endpoints, NSG rules, routing, firewalls, Azure VNets, Subnets, and security policies.
  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and Azure CLI.
  • Understanding of web security fundamentals, including firewalls and ports.
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring and logging tools.
  • Ability to learn and use ITSM tools like ServiceNow.
  • Strong leadership skills with a customer focus and ownership mentality.
  • Excellent remote teamwork and communication skills.
