The Opportunity:
As the Corporate Senior Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst, your work will provide valuable insights to our Senior Leaders that will directly impact Caterpillar’s business, strategy and growth. This individual’s primary responsibilities include preparing monthly presentations detailing Caterpillar financial performance presented to the Executive Office and providing timely and accurate analysis and reporting as directed by management over model/mix and currency. Additional responsibilities include partnering across the enterprise to oversee the calculations and reporting of key enterprise metrics and supporting key projects related to business unit methodology and Global Finance strategy initiatives, including implementation of a new enterprise financial reporting and ERP system (OneStream), where you will help lead the future design of mix and currency analysis. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where attention to detail is critically important, as your work will be highly visible at all levels of the company.

What You Will Do:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare key period-end charts and presentations for the Executive Office
  • Lead monthly enterprise mix analysis, support discussions with senior leaders on business results and demonstrate decision-making skills and ownership of results
  • Support review of all externally communicated financial reports
  • Create and utilize automated tools for the updating, analyzing and reporting of consolidated financial results, including PowerBI
  • Drive improvements and efficiencies in financial analysis and reporting processes
  • Collaborate across a variety of groups at Caterpillar, including segment CFO teams and business unit contacts
  • Maintaining financial records in accordance with GAAP and organizational standards

What You Have:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree within Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail:Β Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
  • Financial Analysis:Β Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
  • Analytical Thinking:Β Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking:Β Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Managing Multiple Priorities:Β Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
  • Effective Communications:Β Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
