<p><strong>Job description:</strong></p><p>PURPOSE: To provide for consistent and uniform quality standards of company products to customers and provide a venue to address customer complaints and/or concerns to a satisfactory resolution in the shortest possible time frame and at the least cost possible to company and business interruption to the customer.</p><p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This incumbent will direct all quality auditing activities. The position will require some travel occasionally to comply with customer requests and occasional contact with customers and suppliers. This person will have the responsibility and authority to establishing guidelines for manufacturing.</p><p>Qualification Requirements:</p><p>§ Performance Requirements: The individual must possess the ability to effectively communicate orally and written all types of information in both technical and layperson terms. This person must have leadership qualities and be computer literate. This person must be able to objectively measure his/her employee’s performance, and set goals to achieve or surpass all Engineering, IT, HR, Materials, Technical Department, Finance, and external contacts for quality standards such as: Customers, Purchased Component Sources, Tool Makers, Measurement Device Vendors, Quality Equipment/tool calibrating sources, and Quality/statistical information sources.</p><p>OPERATING SKILLS:</p><p>· Represents company as IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 representative</p><p>· Ensures a high level of internal and external customer service</p><p>· Supervises workers engaged in inspection and testing</p><p>· Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications</p><p>· Provides technical and statistical help to teams</p><p>· Formulates, documents and maintains quality control standards</p><p>· Coordinates objectives with production procedures</p><p>· Creates, documents, implements inspection criteria</p><p>· Provides and oversees inspection activity for production</p><p>· Applies total quality management tools</p><p>· Interacts with vendors to ensure quality parts</p><p>· Maintains an active role on continuous improvement team</p><p>· Interacts when customer complaints come in</p><p>· Assigns customer complaints to an 8D team</p><p>· Certified IATF/EMS auditor</p><p>· Familiar with Lean Manufacturing</p><p>· Problem solver</p><p>· Understands what APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Central Plans, MSA, SPC are all about</p><p>· Knowledge of process flow</p><p>· Visits and knows how to work with customers at their locations</p><p>§ Education and/or Experience A background in Engineering would be a plus. He/She must be current with all SPC tools: APQP, TS16949, ISO9001, Capability Ratios, Capability Index, Control Plans, Design of Experiments, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Geometric Dimensions and Tolerancing, Launch Team, PIPC, PIST (% of Inspection Points Satisfying Tolerances), PPAP, PPM, PVP, R & and 8D’s. The candidate should also be aware of the flowing techniques: QFD,FEA,POKE,YOKE. The individual should possess the knowledge in compression, transfer, injection, blow molding, extrusion, with microwave and mandrel curing. This person must possess knowledge of auto industry terms and philosophies. The incumbent must be able to read and interpret customer drawings and be aware of this company’s capabilities.</p><p>§ Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government/legal regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure, manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.</p><p>§ Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with abstract and concrete variables.</p><p>Authority: Has the authority to carry out tasks as spelled out in essential duties and responsibilities and as directed by appropriate supervisory authority.</p><p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</p><p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
