JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Impact Manager leads efforts to strengthen the United Way Family Resource Center (FRC) Network, ensuring family-driven programming, partnerships, and engagement. This role supports the network director, lead agency and Parent Advisory Committees (PACs) in identifying resource gaps and expanding services for families. Key responsibilities include coordinating community and corporate partnerships, managing designated budgets, overseeing network outreach and event communication, and ensuring alignment with the Protective Factors Framework and NFSN Standards of Quality for Family Strengthening and Support. Additionally, this role provides contract oversight, ensures program compliance, and collaborates across departments to enhance the network’s impact. This position plays a critical role in strengthening the Family Resource Center Network’s infrastructure, driving sustainable impact and lasting community change.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Family Resource Center Network Specific Tasks
- Supports the lead agency and Parent Advisory Committees (PAC) in identifying and addressing resource gaps, ensuring that community and parent voice shape programming, events, and services within the UWSA FRC Model.
- Support the Network Director in providing oversight of the third-party evaluator for the Family Resource Center Network, to support data collection, program evaluation, and continuous improvement efforts. (CQI).
- Support the lead agency in developing and enhancing relationships with United Way funded and unfunded community partners to expand services available to families within the Family Resource Center Network.
- Support the lead agency and community partners in aligning their services with the Protective Factors Framework, family-centered approach, and NFSN Standards of Quality to ensure high-impact support for families across the network.
- Assist the lead agency in the development, implementation, and monitoring of an outreach plan that encompasses recruitment and retention strategies for families residing in the network’s priority and adjacent zip codes.
- Lead the development, maintenance, and communication of network-wide events, supports, updates and resources, ensuring clear, consistent messaging to families and community partners across the FRC Network.
- Manage the Family Resource Center basic needs process and budget line item to ensure the lead partner agency is aware of and access available funding to support families in successful program completion.
- Support the Director in the acquisition, expansion, and development of new FRC locations, including identifying potential sites, conducting feasibility assessments, negotiating lease agreements, and coordinating space planning efforts along with our lead agency and internal teams. Ensure alignment with internal protocols and processes to facilitate seamless development and operational readiness of new locations.
- Perform other duties needed to help drive the success of the FRC Network, Community Impact Department and United Way.
- Support the Network Director to ensure strategic engagement of corporate partners year-round through implementation of specific donor/corporate engagement strategies in partnership with the Resource Development team, Community Engagement staff, Marketing, and/or Volunteer Center.
- Consistently and accurately document key conversations, project interactions, follow-ups, and follow-through with prospective donors and corporate partners in United Way's customer management database to ensure relevant staff members are kept informed.
- Recognized as the Subject-Matter Expert on equitable community change and historical influences for the target areas served by the FRC Network.
- Oversee and manage designated budget allocations, including key FRC Network family engagement events, and externally secured sponsorships and donations beyond the core budget
- Participates as a champion, project lead, and/or member of organizational teams as required for volunteer/ campaign projects.
- Develops and customizes volunteer projects for various stakeholders alongside the Director of Community Engagement and Resource Development Relationship Managers.
United Way Senior Impact Manager Tasks
- Stay informed on best practices in Family Resource Center models by researching NFSN Standards of quality, Protective Factor Framework, and family-centered approaches. Incorporate these practices into the Family Resource Center Network’s strategies to ensure alignment with the family driven approach and community-driven support systems.
- Assist in organizing and facilitating network and practitioner meetings and periodic community meetings to include resident, parent engagement meetings, tours, open houses and meetings in schools, churches, neighborhood associations, etc.
- Maintain positive working relationships with all schools, parents and residents, and partners in priority neighborhoods.
- Promote HOPES III, MIECHV, Dual Generation, ReadyKidSA, Help Me Grow, and other appropriate activities, as assigned. through social media sharing and recruitment.
- Recognized as the Subject-Matter Expert on a UWSA Impact strategy or initiative building awareness, driving participation and providing expertise to staff, community, stakeholders and volunteers.
- Conduct aggressive outreach initiatives by attending and participating in events and meetings to promote the FRC Initiative and generate community awareness of the opportunities for both partners and families accessing the FRC Network.
- Establish a Community of Practice of frontline staff providing direct service at each FRC.
- Lead cross-impact council/cross-impact grant and cross-departmental initiatives advancing UWSA collective efforts.
- Work collaboratively with UWSA Impact Managers in the development of departmental initiatives and provide guidance in planning, design, and implementation of impact initiatives.
- Collaborate with the UWSA marketing and media team to ensure consistency in logistics, communication and messaging, and to develop year-round collective impact stories/products.
- Serve as staff point of contact for communications including products, printed materials, websites, newsletters, constant contact platform and social media.
- Assist Strategic Initiatives leader with planning and meeting facilitation designed to achieve goals.
- Manage all coordination and communication to include meeting notifications, meeting/ event/ tour logistics, meeting/tour/event notes, maintenance of rosters, contact logs, etc.
- Monitor and evaluate monthly reports and follow up with partners for correction and/or clarification.
- Make recommendations for corrective action as needed.
- Provide on-site support at the various Family Resource Centers, including event coordination, program fidelity assessments, staff check-ins, and operational oversight, to ensure seamless service delivery and alignment with the Family Resource Center model.
- Lead annual Partnership Agreement/Grant Compliance process to include reviewing content of all addenda and compiling for final review and signatures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree – required / master’s degree – preferred in social work, Health & Human Services, Public Policy, nonprofit management or other related field of study.
- Five years or more experience in program management, community engagement, nonprofit leadership, or a related field.
- Experience in Family Resource Centers or similar community-based initiatives focused on supporting families that center parent voice and lived experience- preferred
- Strong background in cross-sector collaboration with government agencies, nonprofits, corporate partners, and community organizations.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale initiatives, including strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Strategic leadership of collective impact efforts.
- Experience in working effectively in multicultural environments.
- Staff and volunteer management.
- Budget and fiscal management.
