With vast inventories at Manchester’s 5 strategic locations: Pennsylvania, Indiana, Michigan, South Carolina, and Texas, we maintain 14 precision sheeters, 9 guillotine trimmers, 4 carton packing lines, and 2 slitter rewinders within 450,000 combined square feet of manufacturing and warehousing space.<br><br>The goal of Manchester Industries is to provide an exceptional service platform with our staff of committed employees. Through working with customers and suppliers together, we can find profitable and proficient solutions in this ever-changing marketplace.<br><br>This role will be at Manchester Industries' new location in Columbia, South Carolina.<br><br>We offer competitive starting pay with increases after 6 months and 12 months of employment, with good performance. Shift differential for working 2nd and 3rd shifts. Benefits eligibility as of the 31st day of employment.<br><br><strong>What You Will Do<br><br></strong>A Utility is responsible for numerous functions in the production process. Scrap Handling, Wrapping and Banding, Skid Shop, Shipping, Guillotine, and general cleaning are areas in which you will be utilized. The employee in this position needs to be able to work with minimal supervision and communicate effectively with production, be conscious of quality, and be proactive enough to help co-workers as needed.<br><br><ul><li>Operate equipment safely</li><li>Maintain a clean work area</li><li>Comply with quality guidelines</li><li>Monitor area supplies and inform the supervisor if levels become low</li><li>Inform supervisor of any maintenance issues, fill out Service Requests</li><li>Essential Functions and Responsibilities of:</li><ul><li>Guillotine Operator</li><li>Material Handler</li><li>Roll Tender</li><li>Receiving Clerk</li><li>Shipping Clerk</li><li>Skid Shop Person</li><li>Wrapper Bander</li></ul><li>Act in a manner consistent with company values and attitudes.</li><li>Other duties as assigned by the Production Manager.<br><br></li></ul><strong>What You Will Need<br><br></strong>To be successful in this position, we are looking for candidates with the following:<br><br><ul><li>High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required)</li><li>Minimum 2 years continuous full-time work experience (required)</li><li>Industrial production or operator experience (preferred)</li><li>Strong communication skills</li><li>Ability to operate a forklift.</li><li>Ability to operate machinery</li><li>Able to read and use a tape measure.</li><li>Able to perform and understand basic mathematical calculations.</li><li>Ability to speak and understand English</li><li>Understand and comply with all manufacturing safety procedures including personal protective equipment (required)</li><li>Able to work in a physically demanding environment including temperature extremes, loud noise, avoiding slipping, tripping, and falling hazards.</li><li>Physically capable of manual labor that includes bending, walking, sitting, and climbing in and around machinery and equipment for an entire 8-hour shift.</li><li>Able to lift, up to 40 lbs. frequently, between 40 and 50 lbs. occasionally, over 50 lbs. minimally. When lifting 50 lbs. and above, team lifting, and overhead crane assistance will be used.</li><li>Work environment includes exposure to compressed air, steam, lubrication oil, dust, and hydraulic fluid.</li><li>Able to work an 8-hour shift Monday-Friday.
