Position Description

The Geriatric Nurse Informatics Specialist - Cerner Solution will provide high-impact clinical informatics support across Cerner EHR implementations focused on geriatric care settings, in direct support of our Veterans and their healthcare needs. This full-time role is critical in ensuring successful Oracle Health (Cerner) deployments in highly complex environments across the Department of Veterans Affairs and/or Department of Defense. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Cerner solutions, geriatric clinical workflows, and a passion for strategic problem-solving. They will be instrumental in enabling future implementations that deliver measurable success for one of our most vulnerable populations-our nation's Veterans. The individual will help tackle project risks, participate in the creation of mitigation plans, and apply their experience and wisdom within their clinical specialty and associated Cerner functionality to drive operational alignment and excellence. The candidate must have exceptionally strong communication skills and be comfortable working directly with executive-level stakeholders.

Type of Employment: Full-Time

Work Location/Travel: Expected 50% travel required; applicants must be free from travel restrictions to accommodate evolving needs of the client.

Salary Range: $121,300 - $140,400 base salary, depending on experience and location.

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with clinical and IT stakeholders to assess and optimize workflows specific to geriatric and Veteran populations.
• Provide at-the-elbow support, particularly for long-term care, rehab, and elder-focused units.
• Design, document, and validate test cases and workflows using Cerner Model principles.
• Lead and support User Acceptance Testing; gather feedback and develop scalable solutions.
• Advise on the configuration and change request process to ensure alignment with clinical intent and policy.
• Develop and deliver targeted training tailored to geriatric clinicians and end users within VA/DoD settings.
• Leverage Cerner configuration tools such as Workflow Designer, DCWs, and DDMs for functional alignment.
• Participate in risk identification, mitigation planning, and escalation protocols to ensure delivery excellence.
• Actively engage stakeholders, manage expectations, and support data-driven decision-making.
• Ensure Cerner implementations are conducted in accordance with Edera's quality and mission-focused standards.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills and present in the most polished and professional manner.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
• Expertise in Oracle Health (Cerner) EHR, including Model build and clinical configuration requirements.
• Strong clinical background in geriatric nursing; current RN license required.
• Strategic thinker with proven ability to identify project risks and execute mitigation plans.
• Exceptional ability to communicate technical concepts to clinical audiences and vice versa.
• High degree of professionalism, accountability, and operational judgment in high-stakes environments.

Education/Certification Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related clinical field required.
• Clinical licensure (RN) required.
• Master's degree in Health Informatics or related field preferred.

Experience Required:
• Minimum of 6 years of clinical nursing experience with at least 3 years in geriatric settings.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Cerner EHR implementations.
• Required experience supporting VA and/or DoD Cerner deployments.

Technical Skills Required:
• Proficiency with Cerner Model tools including Workflow Designer, DCWs, and DDMs.
• Experience with clinical data interoperability and HL7 standards.
• Ability to lead test script development, execution, and defect resolution.
