About the position

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, train, implement, evaluate, and optimize nursing informatics projects.
  • Serve as the primary interface between nursing, patient care services, Clinical Engineering, and Information Services.
  • Participate in communications and project planning regarding system implementation and integration with other UC San Diego Health initiatives.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices for planning and delivering responsible nursing care.
  • Provide expert consultative guidance on change initiatives affecting clinical care processes.
  • Conduct workflow and data analysis and design techniques, including needs assessment and gap analysis.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science (BSN) or higher.
  • A valid California RN license.
  • Certification in primary Epic EMR module(s) within four months of initial hire.
  • Five or more years of relevant experience in clinical informatics projects, EMR optimization, or nursing informatics.
  • Experience in information systems implementation and support within a large-scale healthcare organization.
  • Strong ability in workflow and data analysis and design techniques.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master of Science in Nursing (Nursing/Clinical Informatics Specialization).
  • EPIC Certification.
  • Certification in Nursing Informatics from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
  • Experience as a major participant in a clinical system implementation.
