Reuters Video News, is seeking an experienced and innovative news Cameraperson for a TEMPORARY assignment based in San Francisco. We anticipate the successful candidate being based within commutable distance to San Francisco, CA. About the Role As Cameraperson (Level 1 Journalist - Temp), you will: Cover varied news events in the U.S., including breaking news and feature stories with travel to the scene of events. Film news and feature stories using broadcast-quality video camera, DSLR, GoPro, and other camera equipment. Work autonomously when filming, whilst collaborating with colleagues within Reuters Text to cover stories such as climate change, technology, entertainment and sports. Produce and edit content at speed and in some challenging weather conditions. Work some weekend shifts and at times, longer hours. About You You're a fit for the role of Cameraperson (Level 1 Journalist - Temp) if you have: Demonstrable experience in TV/digital news-gathering and production, with a track record of working with desk and field producers and the ability to operate independently. An understanding of Reuters’ broadcast and digital clients, both domestically and internationally. Experience conceiving of and executing feature stories covering topics like climate change, technology, entertainment and sports. A commitment to accuracy and speed, while upholding Thomson Reuters editorial principles, is a must. Be willing to work long hours, some weekend shifts, and travel to breaking news stories, often at short notice, under tight deadlines and in all weather conditions.
