  • The Benefits Analyst/Sr. Analyst is a member of the Benefits team within the People organization and will be responsible for administering health and welfare plans.
  • This role will interface with other Benefits and Retirement team members and external benefits administrator or other vendors to support operational excellence and the delivery of Joint Collective Bargaining Agreements (JCBA) provisions and a positive team member experience as it relates to health and welfare benefits.

What You'll Do

  • Analyzes census data to monitor the administrative accuracy of health and welfare plans, including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending and savings accounts, income protection benefits, retirement plans, and other benefits programs including wellness and voluntary benefits
  • Performs complex analytical work in support of troubleshooting member issues related to benefits eligibility, dependent verification, life events, COBRA administration, and special programs such as sick-bank conversion, wellbeing rewards, leave programs, early-out programs etc.
  • Interprets benefit administration rules, plan requirements, and JCBA agreements
  • Analyzes JCBA provisions and works with benefits administrators to design functionality and implement automation. Performs testing and monitors production environment for accuracy
  • Defines requirements and designs an enhanced user experience with a focus on continuous improvement during new hire enrollment process, life events, annual enrollment, separation process, or survivor support
  • Creates reporting dashboard using census, case management, and escalations data. Mitigates escalations through analysis of trends and recommends process improvements
  • Drives accountability of external suppliers by validating data integrity to ensure the highest quality delivery of service in accordance with benefits delivery rules and service levels
  • Monitors call center performance and analyzes data (volume, handle time, speed to answer etc.) to optimize staffing levels during peak periods such as annual enrollment
  • Develops presentations and written materials to explain our benefits program to employees. Creates and reviews benefits communications and maintains external and internal websites
  • Creates process maps and documents requirements related to the delivery of benefits
  • Performs other duties or ad-hoc projects as assigned to drive business objectives

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/training
  • 3 years minimum analytics and/or operations experience

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Technology field is preferred
  • Working knowledge of benefit plans or benefits administration
  • Prior experience with ensuring vendor operational excellence
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI or Tableau

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Must have strong working knowledge and ability of Microsoft Office software, including Excel (Vlook-up, Pivot tables, other formulas), Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to complete trend analysis to provide recommendations for improvement
  • Must meet strict deadlines, with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, changing, and complex benefits environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize work, with emphasis on accuracy, timeliness, and operational excellence
  • Ability to independently research issues using strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills required with the ability to effectively communicate with multiple levels of internal and external partners to achieve common goals
  • Effective team player with the ability to collaborate, as well as work independently
  • Self-motivated individual with the passion and desire to obtain additional knowledge and experience across multiple areas of the organization
  • Ability to travel (15-25%)
