<p><strong>VISION AND MISSION </strong></p> <p>The city of Las Vegas illuminates arts and culture and celebrates the bold, dynamic, and diverse community through providing access to artworks within city spaces and outdoors in the public realm. The city of Las Vegas’ Public Art and Gallery Program serves valley residents and visitors, celebrating the city’s extraordinary character by acquiring and displaying artworks in public spaces and supporting community-led public art efforts.</p> <p><strong>DESCRIPTION </strong></p> <p>The city of Las Vegas Public Art and Gallery Program issued a call for muralists in 2023, which resulted in the <a href="">Pre-Qualified Muralist List</a>. This list has been used to select semi-finalists and awarded artists for multiple mural projects since then. The Public Art and Gallery Program is now re-issuing the call, with the intent to expand the listing of qualified muralists interested in working with the city of Las Vegas. Artists chosen for this pre-qualified list are eligible for consideration for upcoming city of Las Vegas mural projects for three years. The list is available to view online and is frequently shared as a resource for other commissioning agencies. Through a fair and public process, an evaluation panel consisting of local artists, Las Vegas Arts Commissioners, and community stakeholders will review all submissions.</p> <p><strong>GOAL</strong></p> <p>Our goal is to enrich public spaces with creative and thought-provoking works of art. The Pre-Qualified Muralist List should reflect a diverse range of artists with experience in executing projects that enhance and engage their communities.</p> <p><strong>BUDGET</strong></p> <p>Project budgets are yet to be determined. Muralists may receive amounts ranging between <strong>$20 – $40 per square foot, </strong>depending on the complexity of design and size, all-inclusive.</p> <p><strong>ELIGIBILITY</strong></p> <p>All artists, eighteen years of age or older, excluding current City of Las Vegas employees. The Public Art and Gallery Program encourages diversity in its collection and programming.</p> <p><strong>TO APPLY</strong></p> <p>Click the link to complete the <a href="">Request for Qualifications: Pre-Qualified Muralist List</a><strong> </strong>application. Artists are asked to submit the following documents and supporting materials electronically:</p> <ul> <li><strong>Letter of Interest</strong>: Tell us who you are, and share a brief overview of your experience creating murals. Let us know of any community engagement that you incorporate into your art practice.</li> <li><strong>Resume or Curriculum Vitae: </strong>Detail your relevant professional experience in the art field.</li> <li><strong>Images and Descriptions of Artworks: </strong>Provide up to ten (10) images of past mural projects, and/or relevant works. Include a description for each image.</li> </ul>
