Job Summary-

Mera is seeking a skilled and proactive Procurement & Logistics Manager to lead the sourcing, purchasing, and distribution logistics of food, beverages, and operational supplies for our restaurant concessions at JFK International Airport. This is a high-impact, hands-on role responsible for ensuring product consistency, supply continuity, and operational efficiency across multiple high-volume outlets in a fast-paced, secure airport environment.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned supply chain professional with deep experience in foodservice logistics, vendor management, and airports time-sensitive operations. You'll play a key role in supporting our culinary and operations teams by streamlining procurement processes, improving cost efficiency, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and setting SOPs (standard operation practices).

Responsibilities-

Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Source food, beverage, packaging, and kitchen supplies in compliance with each brand and Mera's standards
  • Negotiate prices, terms, delivery schedules with vendors and contracted services
  • Ensure vendors meet food safety and airport compliance standards
  • Verify that received products meet agreed quality and specifications

Logistics & Distribution

  • Oversee delivery logistics team across the terminal and its outlets
  • Coordinate dock schedules and work with 3PLs and customs, if needed
  • Manage cold chain integrity and transport of perishables

Inventory & Demand Planning

  • Manage master inventory count across all units and identify potential variances
  • Forecast demand in collaboration with Operations team and culinary teams
  • Minimize waste and ensure FIFO inventory practices

Compliance & Documentation

  • Maintain compliance with airport security and health regulations (HACCP, FDA, USDA)
  • Keep accurate procurement records and vendor files
  • Conduct quality control checks and vendor performance audits

Budgeting & Reporting

  • Manage and monitor procurement budgets
  • Track key procurement KPIs and report to senior leadership
  • Analyze spending trends to improve efficiency and reduce costs

Qualifications-

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in foodservice procurement/logistics (airport or hospitality preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of ERP, POS, and inventory software (e.g., Toast, NetSuite, Marketman, SAP)
  • Experience in logistics and supply chain management
  • Familiarity with airport operations and regulatory environments
  • Excellent negotiation, planning, and communication skills
  • Ability to obtain airport security clearance (SIDA badge or equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications

  • HACCP, Food Handlers card
  • Experience working with branded or franchise restaurant concepts
  • Knowledge of sustainable sourcing and eco-friendly packaging practices
