WHY JOIN US?

At Launch Potato, you’ll accelerate your career by owning outcomes, moving fast, and driving impact with a global team of high-performers.

BASE SALARY: $35,000 to $55,000 per year

YOUR ROLE

You'll assist and support the FinanceBuzz staff in the team’s mission to produce high-quality content that helps our readers make smart decisions that better their lives and also performs well in terms of search results and revenue. This role will be focused on supporting our editorial teams that create SEO content.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be a detail-oriented person who is able to work independently on a variety of responsibilities with both short and long-term deadlines. You should be comfortable working in a CMS and able to assemble and publish content. You should have strong writing skills in the event that content needs to be adjusted or updated.

You must be 100% okay with having ad hoc tasks added to your to-do list and be able to pivot quickly. Tasks could range from optimizing hyperlinks in published content to collecting and inputting information into Google spreadsheets to assisting with compliance projects to cropping and uploading photos.

You are excited by the fact that “editing” for digital media encompasses a lot more than proofreading, and you enjoy contributing to the team’s success no matter the task.

MUST HAVE:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with excellent attention to detail

  • Comfortable working in a remote environment with strong communication and time management skills

  • Experience supporting editorial or digital content teams in an assistant or production role

  • High level of comfort with learning and adapting to new systems, workflows, and tools

  • Familiarity with CMS platforms, Google Docs/Sheets, and basic content formatting (including light HTML)

  • Familiarity with basic SEO practices

  • An open mind around the implementation of AI in your personal workflow and in content creation

EXPERIENCE: 1+ years supporting editorial or content production teams in a fast-paced environment, ideally in digital media or performance marketing

SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Assisting with the daily process of publishing new content — formatting posts, creating and/or adding images/charts/visuals/HTML tables, and getting to hit the publish button!

  • Updating published content for accuracy, monetization, SEO, and reader experience

  • Updating data in internal tools and resources to ensure consistent accuracy of our content

  • Helping make sure disclosures and compliance requirements are applied to new and existing content

  • Assisting with the development and maintenance of documentation for our team

  • Helping with fact checking and copyediting

  • Working closely with the Editorial Team to improve your own knowledge and skills through their feedback

  • Growing and fostering the FinanceBuzz brand as a top destination for personal finance information and education

COMPETENCIES

  • Detail-Oriented Execution: Displays relentless attention to detail, producing consistently accurate and high-quality content within tight deadlines

  • Adaptability: Thrives in a fast-paced environment, pivots quickly to support changing priorities, and welcomes new tools and processes

  • Ownership & Hustle: Manages deadlines independently, handles urgent and last-minute requests with a can-do attitude

  • Collaborative: Works cross-functionally with editors, SEO teams, and compliance, seeking feedback and contributing to shared goals

  • Coachability: Welcomes feedback, is open to learning, and rapidly incorporates suggestions to improve output

  • Communication: Keeps stakeholders informed, asks clarifying questions, and ensures alignment across teams

  • Organized: Juggles multiple editorial and operational priorities without missing a beat

TOTAL COMPENSATION

Base salary is set according to market rates for the nearest major metro and varies based on Launch Potato’s Levels Framework.
