The Benedictine Sisters of Pittsburgh is actively hiring a full-time (salaried) Facilities/Property Maintenance Manager to work onsite at a small convent home in Bakerstown, PA (near Gibsonia). This position will provide oversight of maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (geothermal system), and other building systems.

The landscaping/groundskeeping in the summer months will include cutting grass, pruning bushes as needed, mulching and planting, as well as maintaining the swimming pool. During the winter months, the Facilities/Property Maintenance Manager will provide maintenance for the property and grounds, including clearing snow and salting the driveway, parking area, and walkways.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Ability to evaluate systems and or facilities to identify preventative maintenance or scheduled repairs that need to be performed
  • Review and prioritize "maintenance slips" from the Sisters and complete in a timely manner
  • Develop a budget estimate and timeline for scheduled or proposed projects
  • Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and cost effectiveness
  • Maintain grounds and outdoor areas (swimming pool) with an emphasis on safety and eye appeal
  • Snow removal from driveway, parking area, and walkways
  • Develop and maintain procedures and schedules
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and practices on-site
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma and/or trade school required
  • At least 5 Years of maintenance experience with knowledge of building and construction trades
  • Extensive knowledge of building systems- heating, plumbing, HVAC, etc,
  • Proven ability to read plans and schematic drawings and use repair and maintenance manuals
  • Computer skills
