Program Overview

JetBlue Gateways are industry-leading career development programs that open the door for both crewmembers and external applicants to pursue a path to a pilot or maintenance technician position at JetBlue.

Gateway Select is an innovative talent pathway for those seeking to become pilots at JetBlue. This unique JetBlue Pilot Gateway Program adopts a more competency-based approach to becoming a professional pilot. The program aims to optimize the training of prospective airline pilots by providing early exposure to multi-crew/multi-engine operations, full motion simulator training, crew resource management, and threat and error management.

Once all program requirements are met—including meeting all flight time requirements for an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate without restrictions—pilots will become new hire pilots at JetBlue. Upon successful completion, candidates will undergo orientation and a six-week training program for first officers.

Gateway Select Training/Experience-Building Framework Includes:

  • Introduction to JetBlue and flight training partner
  • Primary Training: Private Pilot through Commercial Multi-Engine Certificate
  • Airline Preparation Course: Jet training at JetBlue University
